Despite the recent stormy weather the property market in North London and Hertfordshire has a spring-like feel to it, with record-breaking numbers of buyers registering with Statons in search of a new home, some fabulous new properties being placed on the market and record month for sales agreed.

Busiest February on record

We talked about signs of normality returning in our January newsletter ‘Moving home in 2022’ as the early January property market was already showing signs of a surge in home moving activity. February 2022 has been our busiest February on record for both buyers registering on our mailing list and for sales being agreed on properties.

Rightmove’s recent ‘House Price Index’ also reports strong market activity in February. Confirming the biggest monetary jump in the average price of property coming to the market they have recorded in more than twenty years.

Property prices are now 9.5% higher than a year ago, the highest annual rate of growth since September 2014.

Interestingly the report also confirms that the London property market recorded its biggest annual jump in the number of buyer enquiries than in any other region, Mirroring the experience at Statons. As well as the highest annual rate of price growth since 2016, with a return to the office for many as the ending of the pandemic restrictions fuel renewed demand in the capital.
