Living in Hadley Wood

Elegant, Tranquil Village

The village of Hadley Wood is beautifully positioned on the border of Hertfordshire and yet only 11 miles from the centre of London. It’s a place many are keen to move to and reluctant to leave.

How Accessible Is Hadley Wood?

The relaxed feel of this suburb makes you believe you’re a world away when in reality its railway station has fast links to Kings Cross, Moorgate, and Welwyn Garden City. You can access the Piccadilly Line from Cockfosters tube station and the Northern Line from High Barnet. Depending on traffic, Heathrow and Luton airports are each approximately 40 minutes away, and there is also a private helipad in the grounds of West Lodge Park Hotel.

Mount House School is a leading independent co-educational school for children from 11 to 18. Hadley Wood Primary School has a great reputation too, and the same can be said for Monken Hadley Church of England School.

Discover The Historic Landscape

The area is known for the stunning Trent Country Park, once a hunting ground for Henry VIII; you can roam the forests and wooded gorges whilst keeping an eye out for the wealth of protected wildlife living there. The park has various routes for walking, cycling and horse riding, and hosts events such as the Race4Life and concerts.

Another landscape to discover is Hadley Wood Golf Club, which was designed by Alister MacKenzie in 1922, who, ten years later, went on to be responsible for Augusta, home to the US Masters.

Living In Hadley Wood

On Cockfosters High Street you will find some wonderful independent stores and diverse amenities including a fitness studio, restaurants with international cuisine, and a beauty salon.

The local lawn tennis club is one of the oldest in the UK, and the village also has a popular riding and running club, as well as a vibrant community centre. There is a real sense of community here, but it’s also home to those who value their privacy.

Finding A Home In Hadley Wood

Statons Estate Agents in Hadley Wood offer a wide range of properties, from luxury apartments, Georgian cottages, double-fronted Victorian and Edwardian houses to palatial homes, Hadley Wood is considered an exclusive area in which to live. Its tranquil setting and refined appeal make it a wonderful choice for your next home.
